هذا القرآن دستور ومنهج للحياة، ولهذا كان هو أولى ما ينبغي الاشتغال به، تعلّمًا وتعليمًا، ودراسة وبحثًا، لأنه أصل الأصول هو الكتاب، وقد اتفق العلماء على أن القرآن هو كلام الله المبين الحاكم على عباده، فما اختلف العلماء في الكتاب، ولكن اختلفوا في أمر آخر مهم جداً ألا وهو: فهم دلالات الكتاب، وفهم المراد من كتاب الله جل في علاه، وفهم ما هو مراد الله من الآية أو من الحكم الشرعي، ومن العلوم المؤثّرة في فهم مراد الله من كتابه: هو علم القراءات، وتواترها سندًا ومتنًا، وقطعيّة ثبوتها يعطيها مكانة ومنزلة ليست لغيرها من العلوم الأخرى.

This Qur’an is a constitution and a method for life, and for this reason it is the first thing that should be occupied with, learning and teaching, studying and researching, because the origin of origins is the Book, and the scholars have agreed that the Qur’an is the clear speech of God, the Ruler over His servants. The scholars did not differ about the Book, but they differed about another very important matter, which is: understanding the implications of the Book, understanding what is meant by the Book of God, the Most High, and understanding what God means by the verse or the legal ruling. Among the sciences that influence understanding what God means by His Book is the science of readings, and their transmission in chain of transmission and text, and the certainty of their authenticity gives them a status and position that no other science has.
