Abstract

This study aims to explore the dimensions of wisdom in contemporary education by developing a theoretical framework that clarifies its concept and educational foundations, while proposing practical strategies to enhance and develop the educational system. The study is based on the premise that wisdom constitutes a fundamental pillar in shaping learners’ personalities, as it integrates sound knowledge, deep understanding, wise judgment, and beneficial action, thereby achieving a balance between cognitive, moral, and practical dimensions. The study adopts the descriptive-analytical method through examining Islamic sources, educational literature, and contemporary studies related to wisdom and education, followed by analyzing them to identify the essential dimensions that should underpin the educational process. It discusses the concept of wisdom in the Qur’an, the Prophetic Sunnah, and educational thought, and highlights its cognitive, ethical, emotional, social, and leadership dimensions. The study also demonstrates the role of wisdom in fostering critical thinking, sound decision-making, moral values, and preparing learners to face contemporary challenges effectively. Furthermore, the study proposes several practical strategies for integrating wisdom into education, including curriculum development, preparing wise teachers, promoting dialogue and collaborative learning, employing educational technologies wisely, and implementing assessment methods that foster both critical thinking and ethical values. The study concludes that integrating wisdom into all components of the educational process represents an effective approach to improving the quality of education and developing an educational system capable of preparing knowledgeable, ethical, creative, and socially responsible generations
